For those individuals that are receiving DDA (Developmental Disabilities Administration) funding through a Service Funding Plan, respite supports can be part of the plan. If it’s not in the current plan, your service coordinator can submit a “Request for Service Change” to DDA to request that respite be added. The specific number of days and types of respite support are driven by an individual and family’s needs. Because DDA funds are subject to federal waiver regulations, there may be limitations on who can be paid to provide the service. Ask your Coordinator of Community Services for more information about DDA-funded respite supports
